Fraud Tips to Keep You Safe

Use Complex Passwords

The more complex your password is, the more protected your information will be from hackers and cyber threats. Try creating passwords that have a combination of numbers, characters, and both upper and lower case letters. Making it hard to guess and changing it frequently is highly recommended.

Downloading Files

Refrain from clicking or downloading any files that you weren’t expecting to receive or from someone you don’t know. These files can contain viruses or other malware that can weaken your computer’s security system. Always carefully review email addresses of senders to make sure they are spelled correctly.

Sending Personal Information

It is best to not send items like this electronically. If you can do business like this in person, it is recommended to do so for safety of your information.

Links

Do not click on links in emails or text messages that you weren’t expecting or from an unknown source. This is one of the most common ways hackers can gain access to information. Never login to something from a link that is inside an email or text message.
