Summer is here again, and that means one thing at First National Bank of Oklahoma; it’s time for our annual golf tournament fundraiser. On Saturday, August 1st, golfers, sponsors and community supporters will gather at Ponca City Country Club for the 4th Annual FNBOK Golf Tournament. What began as a simple way to give back has grown into one of our favorite yearly traditions. Each year, our team carefully researches organizations making a meaningful impact in the area and selects a partner based on current community needs and long-term local impact.
In the past 3 years, this event has proudly supported historic landmark The Marland Grand Home (Marland’s Grand Home), Survivor Resource Network (Survivor Resource Network) and most recently NERA- New Emergency Resource Agency (NERAOK). Together with outstanding sponsors, in 3 years we have raised approximately $54,000 to support important local causes. This year, we are honored to continue that tradition and announce that all proceeds will benefit the heartfelt and well deserving Northern Oklahoma Humane Society.
Supporting Animals in Our Community
“Fore the Paws” golf fundraiser will help NOKHS provide vital medical care and daily support for animals in need. Funds raised through this event will help provide:
- Spay and neuter services
- Vaccinations
- Microchipping
- Nutritious food
- Environmental and behavioral training
These services do far more than improve a pet’s immediate health. They will help restore trust, prepare animals for successful adoption, and give them a true second chance at life. Together we are helping these animals heal, rebuilding their confidence and helping them find loving homes faster. Medical care and behavioral training are both crucial in ensuring a timely adoption process. These animals are part of our community too, and deserve to be handled with care.
More Than Just a Fundraiser
While of course this event includes competition and a day on the course, the mission behind “Fore the Paws” goes far beyond just that. This tournament is an opportunity for local businesses, community leaders, and residents to come together in support of an organization that is making a huge impact right here in our backyard in Northern Oklahoma.
